We have interviewed a candidate (C.Sheahan)

for the remaining vacancy for a Police Constable,

Hong Kong, who is suitable, but is eligible for the

Army, and a strong young fellow. He is a cousin of

Murphy, a sergeant in the Hong Kong Police, who has

recommended him. Do you wish us, in view of your

M/P Hong Kon/30326 to exclude him because he is

suitable for militery service? He comes from

Ireland, says that he has no desire to join the Army, and evidently will not do so, whether we engage

him or not.
